Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: To combat environmental issues, some governments are considering banning all non-essential private vehicle travel in major city centers. Do the advantages of this policy outweigh the disadvantages?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

A car is one of the greatest inventions of mankind, helping people to go anywhere in in just a short amount of time. In the recent years, production of vehicles and its usage have increased dramatically. To add on that, car emissions have also risen to a high-level, respectfully. Because of it, some governments are restricting the numbers of cars in city centers to reduce pollution; and I think that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

First of all, one advantage of banning vehicle is the safety of the citizens will increase. For what I mean is, with less car on the road, accidents will reduce by a great number. Second, the stress level of people will also decrease. For instance, if the numbers of automobiles are limited, the road rage, and traffic jam will diminish, which causes a great amount of stress, and its also connected to peoples health. Last but not least, the pollution and congestion rate will have a better outcome. As if there are no car emissions, which takes up most of the cities pollution, the congestion will decrease.

Whereas, there are a few disadvantages in it. First is, decline in the some businesses and the governments income. As the, gas stations rely solely on cars, if the numbers are restricted their income will be cut and it could have bad outcome for the government also. Secondly, for people who has health problems and must be transported through vehicles, could have a hard time going somewhere.

In conclusion, the benefits of restricting the numbers of automobiles are far more greater than the harm it makes.
