Today, the world is changing so fast, as well as the culture, norms, and perspective of society. Today’s children get much freedom compared to the children of the past. In my opinion, this is a positive change despite its few negative consequences.
At present, the world is developing through continuous technological advancement, which has several positive impacts on society. In past times, people used to be conservative about their children and did not provide enough opportunities for them to grow. But times have changed, and children are growing faster than ever and becoming mature at an early age. They are in contact with global culture and have very little or sometimes no social prejudices, which used to be in past times. For example, today’s children do not worry about dowry, and they are also very concerned about human rights, which used to be considered a customary issue in the past.
Furthermore, today’s children are more well-informed than any other previous generation as a result of internet availability. They have lots of opportunities ahead of them and have the freedom to do whatever they want. Previous generations were pressurized by their family to choose between science, commerce, or medical fields as their future careers, but things have changed, and children are choosing fields like internet technology, gaming, research fields, etc. This freedom allows them to shine in their interested area. They are also more liberal, health-conscious than other generations.
In contrast to freedom, there can be several drawbacks because they are very vulnerable at this stage and can be misguided by various influences. So, they need guidance and proper fostering from their parents; otherwise, they can end up misusing their freedom and sometimes drugs.
To sum up, freedom has a large positive impact among the children, but there also needs to be a boundary of how much freedom they can get. Parents are a big part of regulating this.
