In many institutions around the globe, academic subjects are increasingly replacing sports activities. This have already changed the way our youngsters are growing up in relation to how and to what they learn. In my opinion it can lead to a very positive outcome, when it comes to fostering culture and creativity. On the other hand it can also promote a sedentary lifestyle.
Learning more about History, Geography, literature and arts for example can positively impact the future life of a young student. When spending a great amount of time studying, one is able to understand more about the society we live in. It is also proven that high intelligent individuals, so to say those who are more involved in a lot of culture, tend to be more creative and furthermore they acquire a clearer vision of what they want to achieve in life.
On the other hand, cutting off physical activities in schools can be detrimental health wise. The reason is because sports not only favourite discipline and social skills, but moreover it incourages to be more angaged and participant in taking care of oneself wellbeing. For example, children today spend more and more time in front of the television and video games. . Doing so they develop the habit of snacking on unhealthy products. This would eventually lead to a sedentary lifestyle.
To conclude, replacing sports with accademic subjects can have huge advantages on our young kids such as promoting self awareness, culture and creativity. It can also have a negative outcome in due time because it increases the chances of developing a unhealthy sedentary type of lifestyle.
