In recent years, with recent population growth, large number of people reached an age that wanted to find new homes. This is why cities are overwhelmed with constructions and there are not enough spaces available for new homes recently. There is some solutions for the housing demand without going outside the city skirts.
Building new houses in city was a good option until recently. One of the solutions is changing city’s structure to support denser population by construction of multiple story building and apartments in lower population density areas where majority of homes are small. By providing incentives for homeowners, persuading them toward developing new buildings with more stories and multiple number of units per story. This can solve the problems and new homes can benefit from available infrastructure within cities and getting to different areas is easier because it is closer.
Building in countryside arises new problems such as providing electricity and building new costly infrastructures. The bigger a city gets its traffic would increases dramatically and cause pollution and increases the need for fossil fuel for transportation. And countryside has some function to support adjacent city with clean air and areas for picnics and such.
Overall, changing the city structure to support denser population is better than building new homes in rural and far areas from city downtown and social centers.
