In many countries, inadequate upbringing, dealing with violent content in the media and lack of proper inspiration people have been known as the main contributors of increasing offensive behavior and criminal activity in young people, particularly teenagers. Some argue that imposing strict laws and tough punishments can be effective to prevent young criminals. While, others contend that increase public awareness via education alongside rehabilitation are more constructive to tackle the elusive motive and reason of crimes that committed by youth. It goes without saying laws against dreadful crimes must be strictly enforced. However, focusing more attention on prevention crime include public education in schools seems a more rational measure to combat offensive act.
On the one hand, some law-abiding citizens claim that laws are not just enough tough. They constantly believe that lack of harsh sanctions and penalties allowed juveniles to repeat their offensive acts. They contend that legislation systems do not act as enough of deterrent against aggressive behavior among young people.
On the other hand, some individuals support the idea of implementation of prevention crime programs using education. They believe that considering immature character of children and teenagers with the emotional challenges may come up during the adolescence , harsh punishments definitely has negligible impact on mitigating intention to crimes among them. Even it can exacerbate the situation. Furthermore, the published figures of systems of laws have indicated that the number of criminal acts, especially among juvenile, has been soared, having said that the number of prisons has increased significantly.
In my view, Policymakers must strive to focus more attention on prevention crime. Education authorities are able to take effective measures in collaboration with legislation system. These programs will remedy the root causes of juvenile delinquency, if they are performed in the long-term.
In conclusion, in spite of laws must be enforced strictly, in some cases that crimes committed by children or teenagers, it should be better to punish less as it committed by an adult person. Additionally, Governments should utilize public education to increase public awareness. They must understand no one is above the laws.
