In contemporary society, animals have become sources of food and products for humanity. While some argue that animals are no longer essentials, others believe that they are integral parts of their daily life. I partly agree with the former perspective.
On one hand, as the technology modernizes, a new type of meat—-completely made of plants—-has emerged, which is part of the reason why animals are not necessary for food production. Vegetarians staunchly advocate for this approach, for it’s cruel to see animals being killed. Besides, man-made meat could fulfill the needs of individuals’ daily protein intake. Furthermore, new and curative medicines could also be made by plants, such as herbs. Therefore, animals are not necessities anymore.
On the other hand, it could be argued that a large portion of food and production made of animals can not be supplanted by other things. Despite the availability of a new type of meat, the degree to which it poses threat to our individuals may never be known, necessitating the animals used for food production. What is more, animals are an indipensable part of experiments of early stage, which is esstential for evaluating the potential risks for a certain medicine, safeguarding the health of people who later eat it.
In conclusions, while it may be no longer necessary to use animals for food and use food product, they are, to some extent, can not be replaced. Policies should be implemented to strike a balance between the usage of animals and plants.
