In myriad countries, people increasingly tend to talk about financial matters in their daily conversations. The main reason is that people may be concerned about the economies of their countries, and inexorably increasing prices may be another factor. In my view, this situation is quite disadvantageous for individuals.
Firstly, the decisions implemented by governments to mitigate economic problems may be the primary reason for this situation. These developments may not be enough to satisfy individuals. Therefore, people tend to share their concerns with each other in their daily routines. Furthermore, there is an incessantly growing inflation across the world, which is another problem that compels individuals to talk about these topics. For example, in Turkey, the economy has been in a recession since 2009. Thus, one of the main things people talk about in Turkey is the economy.
However, I firmly believe that consistently thinking and expressing negative thoughts about financial topics is quite harmful and distressing for individuals. As it is known, the more a person is exposed to negative elements, the more overwhelmed they are. Consequently, people’s mental health may be adversely affected by this new trend. For instance, in various countries, citizens state that frequently discussing economic problems has harmful impacts on their mental health. Hence, they also say they are trying to avoid engaging in such conversations.
In conclusion, the prevailing discontentment relating to state decisions and the decreasing purchasing power are the two factors that compel people to this phenomenon. As a result, in my opinion, this change is not beneficial at all and quite detrimental to people.
