In recent years, whether having several different family structures has benefits has sparked much debate. Personally, I firmly believe that the advantages of this trend can outweigh its disadvantages.
On the one hand, nowadays the patterns of a family have greatly diversified compared to those in the past. First and foremost, today, families have more than one breadwinner. These changes have led to a significant advancement in gender equality, empowering women to make independent life choices, and reducing social pressures and constraints. Furthermore, it can bring a sizeable volume of finance to the family by having more than one breadwinner.
On the flip side, there are several shortcomings caused by this trend. One problem is that children may experience depression or stress from family conflict, and this is more relevant in modern families compared to traditional ones. Another issue is being unable to take care of their children carefully because they are busy earning money. I believe that if they live in a traditional family, they will not face this problem because they will have support from members of their family. For instance, once parents go to the workplace and children are taken care of by babysitters, they cannot show as many emotions and rewards as parents do.
In conclusion, the responsibility of its members has witnessed a gradual change that can be both positive in protecting and maintaining relationships among family members and negative in affecting both the physical and mental health of children.
