With the increasingly growing influence of mass tourism in recent decades, there are different perspectives among individuals about whether international visitors have a positive or negative impact on destination countries. While mass tourism can lead to environmental damage and cultural loss, I firmly believe that this trend can ease financial pressure for many nations.

Opponents of mass tourism cite multiple reasons to bolster their position. One of the main reasons is that this phenomenon can lead to environmental damage. When millions of tourists visit popular places, the sudden influx of visitors puts heavy pressure on local natural resources. For instance, increased trash and pollution not only damage local ecosystems, but also pollute clean natural areas. Furthermore, high numbers of tourists can ruin local traditions by turning authentic culture into cheap entertainment. However, ignoring the economic benefits because of environmental problems is not realistic for many poorer countries.

Despite these environmental concerns, international tourism acts as a vital economic engine that can ease financial pressure for host countries. One prominent reason is that it can help governments gain long-term economic stability. If tourism is carefully managed, it becomes a profitable industry for developing nations. For example, by developing underdeveloped areas, governments can achieve economic growth, as these places can become popular resorts for an influx of tourists. Furthermore, it not only bolsters local businesses, but also provides income and better living conditions for the local population. Therefore, investing in tourism is imperative, as ignoring its financial benefits can culminate in severe economic problems for poorer nations.

In conclusion, although severe environmental impacts and cultural issues exist within international tourism, I strongly believe that its positive economic impacts outweigh the drawbacks. Additionally, it can be a highly beneficial trend for governments to grow economically if they maintain a proper balance between development and preservation.
