Nowadays, there is an increasing trend about learning the history of the house they live in among people residencing different countries. There might be several reasons why people trying to learn it and several ways how they learn, which will be discussed in this assay.

People are becoming curious about the history of and the story about the places they live in. One of the possible reasons of this may be the need of connection. Due to the human nature, we require to connect with other living and non-living things. The best way to make connection and to bond is to learn the stories of the things. If we learn stories of a place, our perspective on its existence changes. Although we were not there, this place was a home for some other family, and it witnessed a lot more than our life. This perspective provides us to bind the place emotionally which makes us feel like “home”. There is a famous quote, saying “Home is where your heart is”. So, when we make connections, it becomes a real cozy place to live in for us. The other possible reason may be the beliefs. Some people have strong beliefs on superstitions. When there is a bad and terrifying history of the place about their old households, people do not want to be the new residence of that house because of the fear about the possibility of having the same troubles. As a result, they try to learn the history, and avoid living there if someone living there experienced bad things. These two approaches result in an increasing trend among people to search the history of the building they live in.

If the building is not a famous place, it is hard to reveal the history behind it becouse of the lacking of historical recordings. So, people challanges to investigate. However, in some cases like that, verbal history becomes important. Thus, people make their investigations by asking local people such as old resident of that neighborhood. Gossiping on the old stories can be a beneficial way to reveal the underlying stories. But this may result in disinformation. To prevent this, it is possible to search the history online. However, the building may not be the accessible on the internet. As a result, although asking local people can cause disinformation, it is still the better way than the other way.

To conclude, due to human nature, we have needs to make connections emotionally and believes. In addition, these features of us can control our behaviours such as the wills to find out about the histoy of the house we live in.
