More and more people are inclined towards buying a house for themselves, instead of living in a rented one. Owning a home in general saves them from paying monthly rent indefinitely, while worrying less about moving from one place to the next. In my view, these are the reasons which makes it a positive development.
One of the biggest factors leading to house ownership is that owners donot have to pay rent each month, saving a lot of money that can be used at more useful things such as lifestyle upgradation. For example, people in Pakistan prefer to buy or construct their own houses because it is a single time investment, and the cost saved in the long run could be used to easily pay utility bills. Consequently, in some countries such as United States have introduced a payment plan or mortgage for house owners who cannot pay the whole amount at a single time.
Secondly, residents are always in the search of a permanent home. A rented house is always temporary since renters can anytime ask a lessee to leave their property. That is why many individuals are moving towards buying their own house, so that they can be relieved of the mental anguish associated with changing homes. For example, a survey in Europe reported that more than half of the adults are now settling for their own residence, since rent owners have become a lot of demanding in the terms of rent and duration of stay.
In summary, owning a house rather than renting one is the safest option which not only is affordable but also guarantees a secure living. In light of the arguments presented, I believe that this approach is a highly positive development.
