There has been noticed a significant decline in people who visit art galleries around the World. While this exhibitions may fail in connecting with contemporary culture or some other leisure activities that seem more convenient or available, I till believe that providing relatable themes or offering reduced fees for families and students can attract a multitude of visitors.
The logic behind that is that technological advances made physical visits seem unnecessary, because digital devices can easily provide a cheaper access to virtual or online tours in some countries, because entry fees can be extremely expensive, most importantly for extended families. A case in point is that such platforms as Google Arts or Culture frequently offer high-quality images and fascinating voice-accompanying lectures. Moreover, for many individuals, especially the youth feel disconnected from traditional art and are unanimous on the opinion that galleries seem as an exclusive spaces for the wealthy or educated people.
Speaking of the solutions that can make Art galleries more appealing, I consider creating interactive displays and gamified tours that represent an embraced technology and make these places less old-fashioned. And so as to improve accessibility for people, it would be quite welcoming to offer free admissions days or reduced fees, which can remove competition from other activities that are less expensive. For instance, art galleries can collaborate with schools or colleges, foster a partner-ship with bussinesses for cross-promotion, which is set out to inform our society, starting from kids and ending with elder people.
In conclusion, undeniable, there has been noticed a fall in visiting art galleries, which means that traditional exhibitions offer passive experiences and visiting these places requires significant time and money. I agree that several measures should be taken in order to modernize the experience, strengthen community partnerships and make these exhibition seem more intriguing and less intimidating place to spend a weekend with friends or a family.
