However, some disadvantages, such as poor social skills, can limit career growth in the long term. Therefore, I think the drawbacks can outweigh the benefits.
On the one hand, There are certain advantages to choose hands-on training, like debt-free life and quick job opportunities. For instance, in China, many big data companies offers vocational training that can potentially lead to secure full-time jobs within a company. As a result, many pupils are justifying it as a smarter choice because it saves a massive amount of student loan and years of education.
On the other hand, there are potential drawbacks of this trend: poor collaborative and interpersonal skills. For example, according to Google software engineers, interviews at Google test a person’s communication skills and a ability to thrive in a multicultural environment over technical skills.This means practical skills can not always guarantee a job. Conversely, a university education can provide exposure to different cultures that can help to develop these skills by participating in extracircular activities and subjects.
