Writing 18/7: In some countries today, people are having their first child when they are older. What are the reasons for this? Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
In recent years, the number of people in many countries has decided to have their children in a later stage of life. In this essay I will discuss the reasons behind this change and analyze both its advantages and drawbacks.
There are various reasons for the delay in child-bearing nowadays. Firstly, some of the young prioritize their career development over having a child early. This can be understood that the young couples, willing to set their goal on some achievements first, become financially stable before giving birth. Secondly, some of the younger generations find it is crucial to understand the meaning of life by trying new things and going places. They want to experience new aspects that they did not before raising their child so when they have children, they will have more responsibilities toward their offspring.
Though the drawbacks of having children at a later age is considerable for instance, the newborn may have a defect due to the old parents or creating a bigger generation gap. I believe that the positive influences it brings can outshadowed the disadvantages if the children were provided with good education. Because delaying the child’s birth means the couples have more time to build their career, pay debt, secure and enhance their financial capacity. So when the kid is born, the parents will be ready to nurture them, fully providing their kids with food, clothes and education. Additionally, giving birth when they are older also enables them to develop emotional maturity, and also allows them to understand the other deeper. These factors can contribute to a strong, durable and healthier relationship.
In conclusion, the decision to giving birth in the later age might cause some problems, but the benefits of having safer career progress and partnership would be better.
