In some customs, elder people are highly respected, while in some other cultures young generation is more cheered. I have a balanced opinion for this practice.
Some societies believes that respecting elder people is much better as they are accumulated with great knowledge and experience. These qualities of seniors significantly help society in many ways. Such as, leading juniors in the right direction, sharing their experiences, maintain cultural norms and so forth. These qualities of elderly people would avoid the mistakes of young children, leading them in right direction. We can not deny the fact that elders are the real treasure for society. For instance, this is the reason, why many countries elect old person as political representative for governance to ensure stability.
However, other communities have different perspective at this point of view. According to them, the young generation must be valued more than the elder ones. It is believed that youth are future of the nation and promoting more attention to them would yield to a better time to come. Afterall, it is these young children who would be taking care of social and economic factors. Cheering youths, investing, promoting and providing more amenities to them is crucial as these would support their creativity and innovation, esulting into advancement in society.
Summing up, I would concur that elderly people should be highly valued because they have knowledge, which would lead good leadership but I also opine that youths should also be equally cheered for a sustained growth of society.
