There is an ongoing debate regarding older populations. A group of individuals argue that rising ratio of citizens living longer is a practical development. However, others counterclaim that senior citizens creates more social and economic issues than advantages. Prior to stating my stance, both viewpoints will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.
Discussing the former view, one of the most significant reasons is become strong family relationships. The majority of people are busy related their work and they do not have enough time to take care of their children. But grandparents help with childcare and family support, and reduce burden on parents. Another plus point is that more experienced workforce. Older people can train younger generations effectively. For instance, when older people have skills, knowledge, and professional expertise, they give it to the next age group, which can enhance their ability and workforce.
In contrast, the letter view also has its positive sides. First and foremost is that pressure on health and pension systems. Governments need to spend more money for hospitals and retirement pensions, which increases tax burden on civilians. For example, elderly need special care, nursing homes, and social support, which can raise healthcare demand. Moreover, the next is higher dependency ratio. More people rely on the working population because of this economic growth might dropped.
From my perspective, senior citizens give many benefit to the society such can enhance family bond , take care of children , share their experience, and many more. So, this is a positive development that older individuals live longer.
To sum up, although there are several problems occure because of an aging residents, it is undeniable that they also give many advantages to all generations. Thus, a balanced approach is more convenient.
