Band 5+: In some parts of the world it is becoming popular to research the history of one's own family. Why might people want to do this? It is positive or negative development?

Family history record might be one of the essential subjects in some individuals’ life. Several questions need to be answered for interested human beings. That can lead to two inverse consequences such as finding lost family members or dark secrets of their family.

In many countries, there is a trend to look up for ancestors’ information and others are making family trees for fun. Now with new technologies and available DNA test people can find many data about their family histories. Some people may struggle about their identity, about who they are and who were their ancestors. Family history and DNA analyses might be answer for these intriguing questions. Many individuals feel disconnected from their cultural roots. Learning about their origin will that. In addition, family history strengthens emotional bond with families. Also, while looking for details researchers can forgotten lost family members or other interesting missed family events. That would be such a treasure for elder in families who lost their memories.

However, this can lead to different developments. On one hand, finding lost people of your family will reconnect a lot of close relationships. And learning events that happened in family history might be important and fill gaps in stories which we heard from our grandparents. On other hand, result of such searcing can disappoint investigator. Ancestors that they find might be not that good how they imagined or grandparents that they so adored can keep dark secrets from other family members. These findings can be that scandalious that might ruin family relationship. Or else, result of searchings may not be that great that we planned.

In conclusion, knowing family history or searching data about that possibly will be positive aspect even if there can be negative developments
