There is a view that people might have a chance to live on other planets that is suggested to invest for outer space exploration searching livable places including Mars. I do not support this phenomenon as citizens should preserve their own home, knowing the space innovations require massive amount of budget- equal to reconstruct several not cities but countries.
There are several reasons why people should focus on their “home” rather than planetary investigation. The primary one is the high cost of those researches. It is also identified by NASA that developing spacecraft, creating a suitable vehicle, and other technologies demand significant funding. For instance, NASA’s Artemis program, aimed at returning humans to the Moon, has expenses running into ten billions of dollars and it is not exact just calculations. The physical and mental health risks can be and additional reason for this trend as the air and other human needed factors are noticeably challenging to find, astronauts, they are highly likely to face health related issues. When they are in space, constant exposure to microgravity leads to muscle atrophy and bone density loss. Without permanent pull of gravity researcher’s muscle weaken, and bones lose essential minerals, increasing the risk of fractures both in space and after returning to the Earth. These sorts of problems give rise to avoid or decrease those investments and rise attention to our green land.
However, fixing our home is far more plausible since we can consider it as a doable process. If individuals allocate money for the purpose of facilitating their own living places, this may help them appreciate those initiatives because it is human nature: whenever they do something for their own sake, they are more predisposed to protect them. In each state, one or two places could be in a bad condition, requiring rebuilding it. Thus, community clean-up implementations can help change the neighborhoods and this is a cause of fostering sense pf community pride, kindness to both each other and place they are living. Holding on high regard towards the Earth can improve public health and decline disagreement with government by reducing litter and pollution. Take the cleanest country – Switzerland as an example: there it is impossible to see even a piece of litter in the street and their citizens are taught not to throw away them. Because of public awareness, they have been living peacefully without any health problems. If we prioritize fixing whole Earth like this country, it is not necessary to seek for habitable place from Mars or other planets, I think.
In summary, the significance of expending money for space exploration is not relevant idea due to the high cost and possible danger for health. Instead, it is advisable to develop own home by attracting human’s concentration for community events and growing public awareness.
