It is believed that in the long run the shopping mall more often will be seen as a place for entertainment. Albeit the main role of malls is a shopping, I am convinced that in the future people will choose them for spending their leisure time. This is due to the rise of online shopping and entertainment facilities.
One of the main reasons why shopping centres are losing their role as shopping destinations is that many visitors prefer to buy their purchases online instead of visit physical stores. Never have consumers had such convenient access to products as they do now, thanks to online retailers offering their customers favorable terms such as promotions and considerably faster delivery. For example, Amazon has gained its popularity among buyers because of an abundance of product choices and attractive prices.
Furthermore, it is not uncommon for malls nowadays to include not only shops, but also restaurants, cinemas and other places for enjoyment. In recent times, more and more people choose shopping malls for having pleasant time alone or with close people, because of the the ability to select whatever entertainment you want. For example, if you and your friend want to go to the restaurant and after that to the cinema, you can choose both variants and do not waste your time commuting.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that should this trend continue, in the future the entertainment will become the main reason for visiting malls. This is largely driven by the wide range of facilities and the development of online shopping.
