It is true that historical and cultural information was traditionally preserved in museums, while today such data is easily accessible online. While the Internet offers great convenience and long-term storage for historical records. From my perspective, I partly disagree with this idea that museums are completely unnecessary.
On the one hand, many people claim that museums are not needed with the help of digital technologies for several reasons. Firstly, the internet is more convenient and time-saving for many people with heavy workloads. Those people can look up information and the original source from the internet without considering language barriers. Moreover, essential knowledge can be preserved carefully in data centers and with cloud storage and artificial intelligence, those data can be sorted into their own category, allowing faster research.
On the other hand, museums still hold an indispensable role that digital platforms cannot replace. Opponents argue that museums are no longer needed because children these days spend excessive time in front of technological devices, leading to fewer visitors and weaker cultural value. However, I believe that online images cannot replace real-life experiences. Seeing a real ancient object in person provides a deep emotional connection to their culture, which helps visitors feel a strong sense of cultural identity. Furthermore, instead of replacing museums, online information should only act as a supportive tool.
In conclusion, easy-accessible digital knowledge can be stored through the internet with great convenience and time-saving. Museums are still needed for citizens in sentimental values and real experience.
