Involving in multiple jobs has been a topic of debate as people in the past times were seen to be committed with one job whereas it is no longer the same currently. People are seen to work in two places because of financial pressure and the merits include the ability to have a sense of fulfillment and acquisition of skills although it leads to exhaustion and limited personal time.
To start with, people involve in two jobs because of finance pressure, they do so in other to earn enough money to sort out bills and live a better life, this can only be achieved by having multiple streams of income as one source of wage is not enough. To illustrate,90% of Nigerian citizens are seen working in 3 organizations so as to make enough funds to sort out bills and live a better life. Thus, this can be possible by not depending on one place of work.
Furthermore, doing two jobs comes with a lot of benefits firstly,it leads to fulfillment. In other words, one can find another work in a place that he feels comfortable and happy working this will make him to be more productive at work. For example, most professionals with job satisfaction are seen to be satisfied in their second place of work. Moreso, skill diversity is another plus point with multiple jobs, it makes one to acquire different skills from various places of work. However, the drawbacks of these is that it makes one to be exhausted because working in various places requires physical strength and energy which must be pent-up. Also, it makes one to have limited time for himself as most hours of the day is spent at work.
To conclude, people are seen to work in several places now as compared in the past where individuals stick to one job. The reason for this is due to the high demand for money, the pros include having job fulfillment and acquiring different skills whereas, the cons is that it makes one to be tired and have no time for himself.
