In earlier times, there were many distinctions that people could see when they travelled abroad, but now, they find more similarities. While there are some benefits of this shift, I believe that there are more drawbacks. Of course, there are several factors that is creating this situation, in this essay I will mention some of that, factors and provide some reasons why this situation is more detrimental rather than beneficial
Firstly, Governments building foreign landmarks and creating different cultural atmosphere in the hope of attracting more tourists to their country. For example, in China they built a replica of Eifel tower with the city around it, almost as big as the real one, leading to mix-up of French and local culture. Moreover, migrants are also one of the main contributors of global cultural generalization. Secondly, in the past, the knowledge exchange was not that fast and every civilization needed come up with their own solutions or inventions, that is how every culture evolved and enriched. However, today’s worldwide rapid exchange of information is gradually allowing the population of Earth to develop one international culture.
One of the advantages that this global generalization could bring to humanity is that it might help people to understand each others, even if they are not from the same country. However, there are several undeniable negative impacts such as decrease of transnational tourism. Aforementioned globalization actually might mark the beginning of the end to international travels. Another example to detrimental aspects of this change is that when it reaches to its extreme level it kills most of the pride to birth-place and uniqueness in humans’ lives.
In conclusion, these days there are several factors that is contributing to this change.Despite having some benefits, global generalization is not positive change but negative.
