Whlie in the past photography most uesd for real individuals and areas, nowadays due to advancement in technology we cannot fully trust it . I believe this aa negative development because it can lead to depression in people and eliminte the transparecy in societies .
One of the significant effect of this phenomenon on people is that, it can increse the numbers of depressed pepole . When people show unreal photos of themselves in places where they have not visit at all or having luxury items, other peolpe might think they need to work harder in order to achive those items or go to those places.Consequently they may think they are not enough and they feel sad about themselves, leading to depression. For example, in Iran, psychologist belive that the number of depressed persons have increased due to unrealistic phto in instagram.
In addition, it can lead to lack of transparency in societies. If pepole post unrealistic pictures on social media and people find out those pictures are not true, this will increase dishonesty among them . So they can not trust each other and consequently lies in societis will be increased and pepole feel bad to live in that societies.
To conclude, I believe this phnomenon leads to negave effects in societies because it in crease numbers of depressed people and tranparency will lower in societies which is not good
