In today’s world, being a good parent is very significant for raising healthy and happy children. Some people think that schools should teach students how to be good parents. I partly agree with this idea since it has both advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, teaching parenting skills in school can be useful. Many young people do not know how to take care of children, and schools can help them learn basic things like feeding, cleaning, and talking to kids kindly. Also, students can learn about responsibilities and the importance of patience. These lessons can prepare them better for the future.
On the other hand, not all students need or want to learn about parenting. Some students are not interested in having children, especially when they are still young. Also, schools already have many subjects to teach, and adding parenting lessons may take time away from consequential subjects like science and math.
In conclusion, I believe schools can offer basic parenting lessons, but they should not be compulsory. It should be an optional subject for those who are interested. In this way, students can choose what is useful for their life.
