In the modern world, private companies have more influence on the scientific area than the government is. Majority of breakthroughs are being made by the private companies rather than the governmental ones. This essay will determine how suitable the non-public institutions are for scientific studies rather than the governmental.
The main advantage of non-public organizations is, undoubtedly, independence from any other factor such as authority immunity. For example, there are some laws limiting scientists from studying something that is prohibited, and; therefore, they are forced to do research into fields they are not interested in at all. There would not be any breakthroughs or newly developed technologies if scientists have no right to do what they want. Also, private companies have more access to data due to increased funding from global and well- known organizations throughout the globe. Increased income and more access to sources are extremely suitable for ambitious people.
Despite these advantages, scientists suffer from mental issues and pressure from employers in a job. Indeed, non-public institutions have extensive possibilities but people usually do not realize the price that is being paid to have that. While the non-public is independent from any authorities, it is important to notice their free will in deciding and ruling people. Most wide-spread type of ruling and controlling people for private organizations is meritocracy. Meritocracy suggests the idea of supporting and funding only reliable and honorable people. Employers force workers to do a job, because they have to prove the point of increased funding from global companies. Poor scientists considering these factors fear losing a job and live in stress.
While non-public organizations are vehemently better than governmental organizations in many aspects, it is also crucial to know the problems that occur with scientists working in private companies. Having increased funding along with access to any resources and independence from any authority does not mean their freedom after all. Working for private companies means sacrificing mental stability and living in the constant stress of an upcoming assignment.
