Contrary to the modern era, international tourism has been greatly developed in the past few decades, which proposes a spark in different views regarding this in people.On one hand, people are open to accepting different cultures around the world and accepting foreigners, while on the other hand, they think it causes more tension between them. I will discuss my views and further discuss my opinion in the forthcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, we can discuss about how tourism has improved since the last few decades. Even though, traveling to trade valuable assets has been common in the past centuries, it wasn’t common until the past few centuries to travel just for experience and pleasure. However, vikings were said to sail around the earth and travel through different cultures and regions from the year 793 AD has been discovered. Furthermore, vikings played a great role in many ways, such as from moving culture and traditions from one place to another, introducing various spices to people they visit and many more.
Contratingly, in today’s generation, people are reluctant to allow people of different cultures and traditions into their own society. Furthermore, some people even scam foreigners and ill treat them in some countries. Even though, cultural differences are bound to cause tension between people, tourism and exploring different cultures should not be stood up against since it is a person’s right to explore this world and cultures with the sole exception of certain tribes and regions. An additional point to consider is that international tourism greatly influence the economy of a country. Therefore it would greatly affect a country’s overall economic stability if tourism comes to a stop.
In my opinion, i completely disagree with this statement as it i one’s right to travel and people should learn to accept other cultures. Furthermore, it is a lack of awareness among people regarding this topic that produces such tension in them , which can be eradicated with a few awareness programs by the government.
