It is believed that advocating in a free society is essential. I strongly agree with this idea and in this essay, I will support my opinion with examples.
Firstly, free speech motivates people to improve critical thinking skills. What I mean is that people will have a more profound view about a problem and this also helps them calm down in an intense debate and build a civilized society. Many advanced societies in the world have operated by this way. Also, free speech contributes to the development of human beings. I mean that some people having forward-thinking mindset will be more confident because their perspectives may create barriers to social acceptance. Take Galileo, for example, who said that the earth revolves around the sun, and he was punished in the jam for his views all his left life.
Another reason why I agree freedom to speak publicly is vital is that people can express their view in some possibly more destructive way – by rioting for example. Look at what happened in Eastern Europe in the 1980s – and in the Middle East today. They weren’t listened to and sympathelized, so they may think using violation means freedom.
In conclusion, it is crucial to allow people have access to free speech and I believe it will help a society develop and there is no civil war for freedom in the world.
