Many people today think that reading would better than watching TV in developing imaginations and language skills .Personally, I strongly agree with this view and will give some the reasons in the following easy.
On the one hand, reading for pleasure can help people improve their imaginations and language skills in many ways. Firstly, reading stimulates people’s brains more as they have to use their creativeness to understand the concept and the context delivered in the book, which helps to develop their imaginative thinking skills. In addition, language skills can also be improved from reading. For example, reading is necessary for individuals who start learning English because who can expand their vocabulary and pick up different grammatical structures from reading and how to use them effectively.
On the other hand, from my point of view, watching TV people’s dose not help people improve imagination and language skills. While reading, readers have an awful of time to read the text and visualize the story’s content. However, people can watch some channel such as tourism or news inform audience and help them imagine the world around. Additionally, in terms of language skills, people can improve their listening and speaking skills as they can listen to the sound of the word and the use in spoken context with vivid images to illustrate the exact meaning.
In conclusion, I believe that reading book is the best ways for people to enhance imaginations and language skills. However, don’t underestimate watching TV, while reading books can improve imagination skills, watching TV enhance listening and speaking skills more.
