Some people think it is a good thing for senior managers to have much higher salaries than other workers in a company. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In this consumerism world, high cost of living requires higher salaries. Some believe that the senior managers should be paid more than junior staff. Personally, I agree with this idea.
From an economic viewpoint, managers should be paid more. If managers have more responsibility, they use more energy, and spend more time at work than others, thereby contributing to the growth of their companies. As a result, the companies’ productivity and efficiency will increase, which improves quality of products and services. For example, Google and Netflix pay more perks, bonuses and free holiday packages to their senior managers to encourage them to work harder. When companies offer better products and services, they generate more revenue, leading to higher salaries of ordinary employees too.
From a practical standpoint, most mangers are well[U1] qualified and experienced. When companies hire such workers, they usually make better and wiser decisions, resulting to the development of companies. For instance, the unusual decision of Artel managers, prevent the company from bankruptcy in an economic recession in Uzbekistan. Without such uncommon strategies, most companies struggle from financial problems and strong competitions from their rivals. If companies employ such well-educated managers with work experience, they reduce the risk of failure. Therefore, companies should pay more to their senior managers.
In conclusion, although some argue that managers should not paid more than others, I consider that they ought to be paid higher because they work harder and make wise decisions to develop their companies.
