Family is an integral part of life. Everyone living together under one roof caring for each other and rendering a helping hand to one another. It is a place where a person finds solace and solitude. In our society, we have two types of systems, The first one is a nuclear family which involves parents alone with their children separated from any other relatives. The second one is an extended system in which other relations are also involved with family life.
It is a very hot topic of debate which system is better for the upbringing of a child, The Joint family system has both pros and cons but in my opinion its drawbacks are lesser than its merits. When everyone lives in the same place the responsibilities of expenses and duties of household chores get distributed. On the other hand, living alone is a burden for sole earners. Parents get more time to relax mentally which affects their physiological behaviour by treating kids patiently, playing and teaching them. Moreover, they both can also spend time together alone leaving kids with other members.
The thing I adore most about a joint family is having meals together and sitting at one table, discussing the matters of the day, problems and solutions to develop a sense of realization and social ettiques. These cannot be taught in any institution. The love of grandparents teaches us the lesson of respecting elders. Such kids are observed to be more confident and social compared to others.
Concluding we can say that besides a few negative points like privacy and disturbance in personal space. This system is surely a better choice for fostering your child it incorporates qualities like social etiquette, sharing, empathy, helping, family values and adapatability nurturing a better child’s personality. Making a better member of society.
