It is essential for children to differentiate between right thing and wrong thingin their childhood. Therefore,some people believe that punishment is necessary.This essay agree with this statement because,by distinguishing between good and bad deeds in their young age itself,they can nurture themselves to be a well mannered adult in future. Parents and teachers need to provide rewards or punishments based on their age and their action.
To begin with, acquiring the knowledge to differentiate between right and wrong in their early age strengthens their inner mind. Therefore, they can learn from their mistakes and also encourage others to stop doing wrong things. Moreover, parents need to be a role model in their child’s life. Whereas, home is the first place to learn manners ,so parents need to teach their children regarding good and bad things. For example, parents need to show their child videos regarding good habits and bad habits,so they can follow accordingly.
On the other hand, parents and teachers need to punish children based on their understanding level. For example, toddler won’t be able to understand the reason for being punished so ,it is the responsibility of the parents to talk with their toddler than punishing them. Moreover, rewards and punishments needs to be provided to preschoolers, like appreciating them if they do a good deed or giving a small penalty for their wrong deed. This can help children to understand what is good and bad. Besides, due to fear of punishment children won’t repeat the mistake again.
In conclusion, I agree with this statement because punishment is necessary to learn the difference between wrong and right and also penalties need to be given based on their age and understanding level. Therefore, they can become a good citizen in future.
