Some people believe that new innovations in technology which are useful to resolve crimes should diminish crime rates. While the human factor may play a bigger role in some cases, I firmly agree that technological novelties provide important clues to achieve low crime rates faster.
In many cases, people in the law enforcement use technologies if the case is more straightforward. For instance, investigators need lie detectors to spot a criminal as this can not be done by human. However, we can not fully rely on technology in terms of mental and emotional functions. In other words, there are more serious crimes — murder, child abuse, rape— which require a psychological angle. Moreover, cases of culprits with mental instability should be solved by only professionals.
There are many unsolved crimes when it comes to cybersecurity. Because it often lacks conclusive evidence or eyewitness accounts. At this moment, up-to-date innovations come into the field. Take artificial intelligence as an example, many developed countries are using improved version of it, assuming it helps not only in finding cyberattackers, but solving many pervious, sophisticated cybercrimes in an international level.This would also provide strong sense of security among social media users , as it is getting more and more difficult to protect personal details of someone.
In conclusion, modern advances might not find a fair solution to the crimes which are against moral values, but I strongly believe by using them we can built secure communication system and there would also be a decline in complicated, tech-related crimes.
