Today many individuals consider living in urban areas as a great challenge compared before, while other people think that urban life now is more comfortable and accessible. This essay will go into both sides of the topic and explain further why I believe that living in the cities is more convenient and enjoyable than life in rural areas.
Most major cities are densely populated fueled by migrants moving to the city from nearby countryside. Majority of them end up settling in sprawling slumps that causes several problems in community. Firstly, migrants temporary settlements inside big cities usually become the hideout of law offenders and criminals. It causes numerous criminality issues such as robberies, homicides and violence associated with drugs. Secondly, environmental pollution is another crucial issue, the air quality in cities is extremely poor and so as inadequate potable water supply . Environmental problems in large cities are growing especially in developing countries. Obviously, city residents these days face difficulties, especially for those living within the poverty line.
On the other hand, large cities tend to be vibrant with so much activities going on that attract educated and dynamic people. Living in the cities offers more conveniences and opportunities. Jobs for instance, as a financial center it is more easier to find a high paying jobs as there are countless companies offers excellent career opportunities with lucrative benefits. In addition, cities usually have excellent transport systems, best universities, high-tech and luxurious hospitals and high-end shopping complexes. People who live in the city has the chance to experience easier access to their needs and wants. Thus, living in the city means they are closer to everything and that makes life more easy and convenient.
To sum up, there is no doubt that people encountered difficulties in life while living in the cities. However, residents in cities have much access in education and better career choices. In my opinion, if government can implement a much stronger stance against violators then cities will become more safer for the people.
