Nowadays, older people are facing the problem of inability to find a good employment. Many tend to think that this is the case because of age discrimination and prejudice. However, I believe the main cause of this problem is lack of necessary skills and education. Moreover, a great deal of people over 40 are caregivers, thus, they have to make a choice between career and the loved ones. The best solution for these problems would be special schoolarships and offering flexibility.
Firstly, some adults did not get proper education as their peers because of various circumstances. For instance, many citizens of underdeveloped countries such as Afghanistan do not have access to education , even at school. Therefore, it might be harder for them to find a satisfactory job in the future. In my opinion, government should show their generousity by providing limited programms for adults and give them a chance to gain important knowledge. Furthermore, this would be beneficial for government as it will give more qualified citizens that can improve the economy better.
Secondly, older people find it harder to return to the workforce or be employed because it often falls to them to fill the role of caregiver. There are many situations when parents are not able to be hired to their past job. Moreover, if a job does not offer flexibility, the applicant who also has caregiving responsibilities might have to make the tough choice of remaining jobless as opposed to leaving their child or relative. I think the best solution for this problem might be flexible schedule so they can mix their personal life and have a job that totally satisfies them.
To conclude, there are two reasons why people over 40 are not able to find good job, which are lack of proper education and responsibilities for other people. These problems can be solved by providing additional educational courses and making the schedule more convenient for workers by managing it.
