Band 5+: Learning English at school is often seen as more important than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

English is the most common language that is used to communicate between people with diffrent nationalities. This does not mean that other languages should be set aside and the education systems should more focus on english rather than teaching other languages at school,

Most people insist on exploring new languages after learning enough English to be able to communicate with other individuais. People who know more than language are more likely to also know English for this reason because they start with it. While it is good that schools are focusing on helping students learn the English language to communicate, they are keeping the students from leaming other languages that are either spoken by another large population or a small population

The language, that is spoken by a small population, not being teached at schools or other learning platforms may cause the language and the culture to dissappear after some time, with the individuals who are a part of the culture dying or some may even forget it simply because it is not spoken by anoyone else around. To avoid this circumstance, these small languages should also be teached at school to also open new gates for the students such as learning new cultures and simply being able to say that they know a rare language

I think English is very important for our daily lives but that does not mean that other languages should be set aside to teach students more English when we can teach 2 diffrent languages at school with students being able to break language barriers and communicate with people from diffrent backgrounds with a language other then English.
