As teenagers,we frequently hear that nowadays, teenagers face not nearly as much stress as they used to face before.Nevertheless, I certainly believe that despite having more opportunities, material comfort and scientific progress, teenagers life includes a lot of stressful times, disappointments and life changing decisions.
First and foremost, I reckon that in every time, adolescence will be a sufficiently difficult period of life when you have to cope with a variety of difficulties. On the one hand, teenagers need to get an education, help their parents or maybe work. However, I also believe that modernisation in life, such as a variety of social media, academic pressure make teenagers face a great deal more stress. Fear because of passing exams, insecurities in your knowledge, desire to achieve high grades in order to enter your dream colleges can seriously damage your mental health. As a result, it can lead to unwillingness to try new things and discover our true potential.
On the other hand, I am convinced that by far the most significant cause of this issue is the wide use of social media platforms. Teenagers who spend a large amount of time on social media are more likely to compare themselves to others and have unrealistic expectations. Moreover, the pressure of idealized representations can induce stress and anxiety and also prevent the formation of a persona.
It is often claimed that a little stress from trying new activities or facing challenges is an inevitable part of teenagers.I agree with this up to point, if we have a regular routines without any stress, we will get bored and lazy. But how will we have energy to build our life if we don’t have any stimulation because of the amount of stress in our life?
All in all, as far as I’m concerned, teenagers are living lives full of different experiences which can not be successful and make us feel stressed. We need to have stamina and stimulation to keep on working hard and achieving our goals.
