Currently, the most efficient solution of declining air pollution which was recommended by experts is restricting air travel. However, in my opinion, I do not truly agree with this view.
On the one hand, it can be undenied the beneficial impacts of limiting air travel in solving air pollution. First of all, the prior reason why air travel should be restricted is environmental effects. Indeed, in many developed countries, there are various researchers that have proved that air travel is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emission and climate change. So implementing a cap on air travel helps to reduce a large number of carbon footprint of aircraft parts. Secondly, apart from improving the quality of the air on people’s lives, this method also gives the government a chance to save money and energy. Because of a significant investment to build and preserve facilities, the distribution of funds may not be equal. But by restricting aviation industry usage, the government could deal with this problem.
In constant, it has a variety of disadvantages if air travel had to be limited. First of all, this is the fastest and most convenient way to travel, so it is obvious that visitors must face many difficulties when they have fewer flight options. In particular, The aviation industry has made significant strides in recent years to improve airplane efficiency and reduce emissions. Because of this, I believe that it can not depend fully on limiting air travel to reduce air pollution. The most necessary is raising awareness on a large scale. Furthermore, unless the government wants to witness economic decline, they must combine flight restrictions with other solutions, including encouraging inhabitants to use public or electric transport and improving technical services.
In conclusion, I consider that although restricting air travel contributes a lot of positive impacts on decreasing air pollution, it is not the best method to absolutely solve this issue.
