Adapting to a new environment can be challenging. Because you enter a place where you don’t know anyone.
Like it happened when I changed my school. I didn’t know anyone but I wanted to make friends. I didn’t know how to make friends, how to get acquainted with people. All things was a new for me and it was my first challenge.
After classes girls approached me and asked about my last school, why did I change the school and we became friends. However after a year I changed my school again and in this time I decided to take things on my hands. So I approached a girl and got acquainted with her and we still keep in touch. After those experiences I started to join many clubs, volunteering and made friends. Like that I developed my communication skills which would help me adjust quickly in a host family and in the new environment.
In a host family to adjust quickly I will help them with cleaning a house, setting the table and I’d ask them about family traditions and try to take part. I don’t want to be just a guest, I want to be part of their family, because I will be living there for a year. I will suggest them to create our “culture “, like watch movies together at night and I’d listen how their day went. I would like to create our unforgettable memories with them.
In conclusion, my communication skills that I have improved a long time would be beneficial to adjust quickly. Additionally, in my host family, I want to adapt quickly and be their “daughter”, not only a guest.
