Many people argues that museums and galleries should only exhibit work from local artists rather than art from foreign countries. I don’t angry with this statement.
Galleries and museums should keep work from both of the local as well as foreign artists. Galleries in museums are source of knowledge. Galleries and museums are mostly visited by local people. They can enrich their knowledge by familiaring with work of many different artists both of indigenous and foreigners. Moreover keeping arts will help flourishing collection of arts. That will help attracting people from different areas of the world. From where government can earn much revenues. We can say the name of British Museum as an example of collection of arts from different parts of the world and at the same time arts from many local artists. This has helped gaining attraction of people from various parts of the world. This is made British Museum more attractive to people. Also government is earning revenues from people visiting to the museum. And people are gaining knowledge and being familiar with many artists and their work. In addition, all people of a country aren’t able to visit abroad to gain knowledge. Many of them want to visit museum and girl is to earn knowledge. So these people also be benefited.
In my opinion, keeping only local artist’s work will not enrich the collection of museum and local people will not be able to meet foreign artist’s work. So museum and galleries should keep work of foreign artists where work of local artist’s must be prioritized.
