Some individuals are of the opinion that robot and automatic machines will supplant more occupations than it would create.
While I acknowledge the grounds behind this, I firmly disagree with this opinion.
There are several reasons why people believe that the substitution of jobs by automation will not create an adequate amount of occupations. The first reason revolves around the number of jobs that automation have replaced. With the recent development of technology different types of automatic machines have been created. These machines are particularly crucial for many manufacturers since they are cost-effective and can carry out work all day without resting. However, since these machines are now widely used everywhere, it has created problems for many people, especially labour workers who have lost their only source of income. Subsequently, many people will be forced into poverty, unabling to financially support themselves. Another reason revolves around the lack of knowledge. The reason why people mainly believe that automation will replace more jobs than it creates is partly because that they are not properly informed by the government. They don’t exactly know what jobs have been created by automation or how can they apply to them. As a result, this tendency then creates misconceptions toward automation.
In my view, I believe that automation brings a large number of jobs for society. The first reason revolves around jobs that are made to support automation. Labour workers who lost their job can actually apply for manufacturers where they involves creating machines. While it is true that machines themselves are also created from machines, people can actually apply for many roles that involves steps done by hand in the creation of machines. In addition, these types of jobs are easy to apply and there are an abundant of them in various factories. Afterward, this phenomenon will create jobs opportunities for people in the lower class, decreasing the unemployment rate. Another reason would be jobs that involve working with AI. Al models themselves won’t be able to operate effectively without human, they would still need improvement in order to be better. Because of this, various jobs that revolve around AI have been created, such as AI engineering or AI designer. It is also notable that these occupations provide people with a high income and are easier to apply for in comparison to that of other jobs. In this way, these jobs bring in new opportunities for unemployers.
In conclusion, it is clear that there are significant factors contributing to the opinion against the recent growth of automation, and I am convinced that automation will be able to provide more jobs than it replace.
