A significant number of students take exams on the courses they regularly attend and measure about their abilities on it. However some people believe these exams have positive and negative influence under the students. This essay will be explained the advantages and disadvantages of exams.
Exams are the great assesment instruments for teachers who want to see their student’s abilities. However exams bring more pressure to students regardless of their age or academic level. For example; even though students study enough to pass the exams, this behaviour comes with sense of pressure. But in another perspective is that even if they are young age, it becomes their responsibility to study and even pass the exams. After several years, this responsibility encourages the students to feel anxious or obsession to be first in every courses as a response of pressure.
Nevertheless, exams can motivate students or challenge themselves about the lessons they take. They can improve their abilities by learning from their exam’s mistakes. Also this pressure may lead them to concentrate better on their tasks and study more effectively. On the other hand, exams make students more responsible individuals even if they are in elementary school. Because of that taking exam regularly stimulates them to develope study habits and can improve their fast thinking skills.
In conclusion, exams have so many positive and negative effects on students and these effects can drives them to feel anxious but they can stimulate them to study harder. As a solution of that parents should limit both their study times and play times. Limiting the play and study times can provide their school-leisure balance and they may be more productive on every course even under the pressure.
