Most people believe that eliminating the income disparity between wealthy people and disadvantaged ones can result in a happier society. I firmly agree with this notion because of its advantages.
To begin with, one of major benefit of a minimal income gap between society members is the reduction of poverty among people. Governments by implementing some methods can bring income equality, followed by the decrease in poverty rate. When people can access to their crucial needs such as healthcare, education and housing, they feel less worry and as its result a happier society will be brought up. For instance, in some developed countries where there is a narrow difference between the rich and the poor, it is recorded that people are more delighted there.
Moreover, a smaller income gap can lead to a more harmonious society where people feel to choose their major without restriction, particularly in the youths. When people can make a fair money in various job, they have this opportunity to follow their dream job, instead of insisting on a major because it is a money making one. For instance, in some developing countries, people should strive to be accepted in particular jobs, such as medicine and engineering and endure the high level of mental strain causing them to be depressed. Therefore, in a society with a minimal income gap, people are happier, as the have no self-obligation to do some specific jobs to earn more money.
In conclusion, in my point of view, more happiness can be seen among public members in a society with no huge difference in the income of the poor and the rich, as it can have some benefits including reduced poverty rate and no restriction on people to be occupied in certain jobs.
