Currently, some nations are improvising ‘digital nomad visas’ to attract rural workers. While this trend has some downsides, like individuals staying illegally after expiry of visa, but I believe the advantages to the economic sectors war outweighs the disadvantages.
Admittedly, many individuals tend to stay longer than the prescribed time. When individuals work in countries which provides high salaries than thier home nation, they often work for lengthened time, ignoring thier visa expiry. Subsequently, provoking the law and staying as illegal immigrants. Furthermore, many job opportunities for the citizens may be taken by these immigrants. For instance, many individuals from Nepal have gone to South Korea for short term work, but many Nepalese are staying there more than what thier visa illustrates, as they provide high wage. Ultimately, hurting both nations human resources. However, this can be dealt with implementing stricter law, and can be beneficial to economy if managed properly.
The major advantage of ‘digital nomad visas’ goes to the economy of the host nation. This is because many industrial and agricultural sectors are having shortage of workers in developed nations. For this reason, they invite workers from overseas to work for them, subsequently generating loads of money. For instance, South Korea has invited almost 10,000 Nepalese to work for them in the manufcturng sectors, as their own nation lacked human capital, thus inviting people from other countries to work for them, boosting the economy is far more beneficial overtaking the disadvantage.
In conclusion, I believe that attracting workers from other nations have its negative effect, such as increase in illegal immigrants, but the benefit to economic sectors far surpasses the disadvantages
