In today’s time, the people over the age of 65 are in large counting in developed nations. I will elaborate the problems which this might cause as well as the solutions to the problem in the forthcoming paragraphs.
Analysing the problems of increase in number of old people, first and foremost problem is the rise of financial plus emotional burden on the youth of the country. Nowadays, youngsters already have their own struggles of managing their overhead expenses, paying off car loan etcetera .They will have to earn extra and still some how manage to take out some time to take care of their grandparents. Secondly, the decrease in the population of young people will result in a decline in the production of food or other items of daily needs because of which there is a risk of food crisis to happen in the economy.
Examining the solutions to the prevailing problems, one solution can be that government should set up more old age homes and provide basic facilities such as proper care and medicines consequently to lower the stress of younger people. They should start various pension programs to help the older people financially. Another solution can be that the higher authorities should provide job opportunities which do not include much physical effort. Older people should be encouraged to engage in traditional jobs such as of handicrafts and knitting.
In a nutshell, it can be said that although there are various issues relating to the increase in counting of people more than the age of 65, there are measures which can be taken to solve the issue which I have mentioned above.
