Band 6+: Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists and not local people. Why is this the case? What can be done to attract local people?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Almost all foreign visitors or people coming from other areas visit museums and historical sites, while local residents are also not interested in these places. This essay will mention some problems as well as many solutions.

There are some causes to explain why local heritages attract many guilders coming here to visit. The first reason is that strangers will have new atmospheres and new experiences when travelling. This means that people are also curious about the culture and traditions of the places they visit, so they will immediately think of historical sites and museums to understand more about here. The second reason is probably that visiting the museum is included in the list of places to visit. For example, when people travel anywhere, they often visit temples to worship the heroes there and also to visit sacred areas like this. By doing this, local people have to develop beautiful images about their place with everyone, particularly foreign visitors.

Some solutions should be carried out to tackle this problem. A possibility is to innovate their exhibits and provide new and deeper insights into historical events. As a result, local people will have a new feel and have opportunities to be aware of their heritage. Moreover, local authorities should organize many events to attract a lot of people living in their area, and especially they will have more benefits than everyone else. Furthermore, community members need to run marketing campaigns on the Internet to connect with more audiences. For example, organizing the engaging contents engages their fans, thereby increasing visitor numbers to these cultural venues.

In conclusion, every local authority surely needs efficient ways to draw in the local community and bring in more residents. Besides, improving the infrastructure is also as important.
