Nowadays, the products and things we buy are substandard and break or wear out very quickly after a short period of time. In this essay, I will describe the beneficial sides and drawbacks of this for manufacturers and the public.
Firstly, one of the biggest advantages of short-lived product manufacturers is high profits and having demands for goods all the time. For example, while products wear or break out, consumers are encouraged to buy replacements to create steady demand. However, one of the main drawbacks for companies is damaging a brand’s reputation, as customers feel dissatisfied. Then, it causes not having constant customers.
On the other hand, there are some advantages for the public too. For example, nowadays people can purchase short-lived products just for giving presents to someone. Some consumers appreciate those kinds of offers. Because they might purchase those types of products, such as clothes and digital technologies, if their budget is limited and they are suitable and affordable for the poor. But, for the public, quickly wearing products is often a disadvantage. For example, they may feel frustrated when they have to repeatedly replace things, which can cause a financial burden over time.
To sum up, usually, short-lived products’ prices are not expensive and easy to find. My recommendation to all consumers is that you should not buy short-lived products where they sell for a cheaper price. Almost everywhere quality outweighs price.
