Regarding to the advantages of social media,probably the most significant benefit is that social media can facilitate communication across boundaries.The social media has become a powerful and convenient tool for communicating with friends and family.As people usually share their daily lifes to their friends on social media, so they can follow and update their friends’ life,whenever and whereever they are ,eliminating the geographical boundaries.Without the social media,people may need to use lots of money and times to be along with friends and family, as they need to travel to their countries.Another benefit that should not be overlooked is that social media is the efficient way of getting the news and information instantly.Since the social media is the top of the world of app downloads, it implies many people use the social media ,such as instagrams ,facebook.It includes different types of informantion,people are able to quickly find accurate information and news when they open the app.Social media brings some benefits to people.
While I accept that social media can sometime have a positive effect ,I believe that they are more likely to have some disadvantages.Social media is dangerous sites ,since children and teenagers are still at the development stages ,so they have impressionable mind which can easily be affected by inappropriate values conveyed by information on the social media.For an example, there are many reels and posts on the social media,people can post anything they want,so there may be some inappropriate sex and violent concepts.Compared with traditional media like television,it is more difficult for parents to control what their children see on the social media.Moreover,it is easily make children get addicted to the social media.Children social life will also be reduced when they spend too much time surfing on the social media because they are involved in less face to face direct communication with their friends,only focus on chatting on the social media.
Therefore,although social media can bring us information and convenient communication with others,I still believe the disadvantages that it conveys inappropriate messages or values are more significant .
