Nowadays, with the increasing number of population, demand for housing is also burgeoning. Although, with the increment of remote work, traditional offices will be converted into living space for people. There are plethora of demerits which dominating its merits, I will discuss it in the subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with, when office buildings is demolished for constructing apartments then there is a lack of natural light as well as less ventilation. To explain it, office buildings designs is suitable for office employers who usually spend their few hours on that place for working reasons however residential space need proper adequate natural light, windows for room ventilation and sunlight for balcony view whereas office buildings usually skip these facilities when they were constructed. Additionally, limited privacy is another concern because office places have open-plan design in crowded place as well as the walls are poorly designed with a lot of noise, which is not safe for residential space; people require quite spaces for living peace and comfortable life.
Moving towards, residential places need more parking space then office buildings because in office buildings, they only occupied the parking space on working hours but the residential areas require parking space for the entire day and night also including the visitors requirements. In contrast, increasing the housing availability by providing the accommodation on large scale as compared to those places where people live to share their living space with others for various reasons: expenses or migrant from another city. In addition to this, there are another benefits for people for living on that places, it boost the economy of shops, malls and many more who is near the apartment.
In conclusion, constructing apartments on the place of office buildings is not good for people due to safety concern as well as it require more space for providing amenities for residents but it provide shelter to those people who suffer for their living.
