It is often argued by most of the individuals that cooking is a crucial life expertise and need to be taught to both the boys and girls in learning institutes. While, others disagree and opines that it is wastage of school time. This exay will intend to analyse both the views along with my perspective.
On the one hand, there are numerous benefits of cooking classes in schools. The prominent one is the teamwork of students. In other words, if school teaches about cooking to students at early stage of life, they will develop this skill over time and prove to be beneficial in later stages of life. For example, a student goes to a new country, it would be easier for them to adapt to new conditions, if they have the skill of cooking.
On the other hand, some of the peoples belief that teaching cooking is a wasteful utilization of School’s time, argue that children would learn to cook eventually in the later stages of life if required. Teaching cooking would not only waste children’s time, but also affect their academics, as they would have less time dedicated to studies. Moreover, children do not have a compulsion to cook for themselves as they are looked-after by their parents at home. Thus, they can concentrate on studies at school and learn to cook once they grow up.
In conclusion, although cooking is an activity which builds relationship among children through teamwork, but it is a wastage of school’s time Yet, I believe that cooking plays a vital role in the life of human beings. So, it is beneficial for students to acquire information regarding it from their learning institutions.
