A few individuals are of the opinion that there should be very less difference between the rich and poor for a happy society. I completely agree with the statement as this will balance out the society in terms of equality and this essay will discuss my opinion in detail.
By decreasing the gap between the poor and rich will not only promote equality, but also abolish income inequality between them. Further reducing discrimination the poor may face due to their hierarchy in the society based on their financial strength. For instance, a government offering equal opportunity for employment will minimise the unemployment rate for the poor and uplift their status in the society. Similarly, by providing universal public services such as health and education to the people irrespective of the class, will ensure protection for all and fair wages to all workers.
It will also boost the economy of a country as a whole. As the poor class will get the chance to work, contributing equally into the cash flow in the economy. For example, the Indian government launched several initiatives to promote small business owned by the lower and lower middle class of the country, ensuring their growth which might aid them to elevate their businesses. Moreover, further closing this gap can stimulate a sense of unity, which can be done by giving voice to the penurious. Not only empowering them to stand against the wrong and feeling no difference between them, but also believing that they could navigate through various challenges together.
To conclude, I personally believe that by promoting economic equality between the rich and poor will further reduce the gap and will lead to a better and happier society. Resulting in a healthy environment for the individuals to grow in the society with better employability, healthcare services and education.
